Logistics invests too little in systems
The Swiss Logistics Market Study provides in-depth insights into the market three times a year. A key focus of the latest edition is the transformation of IT.
Published by GS1 Switzerland and the Institute of Supply Chain Management at the University of St. Gallen (ISCM-HSG), the study offers valuable guidance for decision-makers and industry professionals by analysing developments within the Swiss logistics sector.
In the first edition of 2026, experts examine the overall market of the 100 leading logistics service providers. One of the main focus areas is “The transformation of IT in logistics – structural challenges, cost implications and strategic guidelines.”
According to the study, IT in logistics has traditionally been rather monolithic. Companies often rely on all-in-one solutions covering multiple areas. As a best-of-breed approach, the study recommends a “suite-based” architecture combined with intelligent assistants that consolidate relevant information from fragmented IT landscapes.
