The data landscape is becoming increasingly complex. Expectations are rising. Competition is intensifying. Those who are able to ride the data wave gain a competitive advantage. This was exactly the topic at the Future Congress Commercial Vehicles in Berlin.
Freight forwarding companies often struggle with scattered data storage and delayed information. Those who cannot cope with the growing volumes of data lose their competitive edge. Inefficiency and a lack of transparency block opportunities and, in the worst case, can threaten a company’s existence.
At the Future Congress Commercial Vehicles in Berlin, CEO Thomas Brabender addressed a dangerous Bermuda Triangle between drivers, dispatch and fleet management in a presentation. In this triangle, data is already lost during collection, meaning it is missing in downstream processes. As a result, analysis and automation are hardly possible.
“The future lies in solutions that collect data and connect systems,” says Thomas Brabender. This makes it possible to automate tasks and predict events. With a shared data foundation, the entire workflow can be planned more efficiently. This type of predictive logistics keeps organizations flexible.
To this end, Brabender presented an integrated solution consisting of a TMS, web portal, telematics and an app. It enables real-time data flows. The interlocking modules ride the data waves by drawing the information they need from the shared database. “When used intelligently, this is exactly what makes the difference,” emphasizes Thomas Brabender, who further explores the topic in a presentation as part of the LogiMAT supporting program.
